Track and Field at Louisa Invitational

Monday, March 30th, 2026

The track team has welcomed close to 40 runners this year, making it one of the biggest teams in Regents history. They are competing almost every weekend this spring with some great individual performances so far. At the Louisa Middle School Invitational in March, Sophie Mulcahy, a sixth grader, took 12th out of 45 runners in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 14:80, and 11th out of 44 in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 30:91. "I beat my time from last year by a second in the 100. I remember Coach said that I got 12th but he didn't tell me how many girls that was out of, so I thought that was really bad," said Sophie. "But then my mom told me it was out of 45 and I was like "why didn't you tell me that Coach?!" In the 200 I beat my time by 2 seconds." The team, heavily middle school grades and younger, is coached by science teacher Zach Vestal, parent Emily Bascom, and Regents alumnus Andrew Stadig (Class of 2024).
