This is the moment that many have been waiting for: soccer has come to Regents! This fall, for the first time, Regents is fielding a varsity boys soccer team (with the girls season slated for the spring). The guys have started the season 3-2-1 with a mixture of established soccer players who have been playing on local travel teams and those who have never played but whose athleticism from other sports is quickly establishing them as a presence on the soccer field.
Also new to the Regents fall sports lineup: JV Volleyball! JV Volleyball joins middle school and varsity as part of the well-established Regents volleyball program. Although volleyball is not new to our school, this is a milestone team as the first time in any sport that Regents has fielded three levels of teams for one gender. "Programs that have well-built teams at each level produce students athletes who have a deep knowledge and understanding of the game and have been given plenty of game time experience," says JV Coach Charlotte Kennedy. "It has been a joy to get to be a part of the inaugural JV program. It is also such an encouragement that we have this much interest and passion to learn and play the sport moving forward!
