2024 Coram Deo Winner: Ainsley Shonka

Sunday, June 9th, 2024

Congratulations to Ainsley Shonka, our 2023-24 Coram Deo Award winner, which is Regents School's highest recognition. Each year the faculty select one student to receive this honor who has embodied the spirit of Coram Deo here in our school. "To live Coram Deo is to live one's entire life in the presence of God, under the authority of God, to the glory of God," said Head of School, Courtney Palumbo. To live all of life Coram Deo is to live a life with integrity, a life that is open before God. It is a life lived by principle not by expediency, by humility before God not defiance. This is a student that has demonstrated selflessness, servant-heartedness, humility, self-control, kindness, gentleness and patience."

"This year's Coram Deo winner has fully invested herself in the Regents community. She is humble, always putting the needs of others before her own. She is diligent, consistently giving all that she has to steward her responsibilities with excellence. She is kind, always seeking to teach a heart before asking for a hand. She is patient, extending grace, forgiveness, and her full attention to those around her. She is a leader, faithfully stepping out of her comfort zone to call her house members to cheer, compete, serve and pray with everything they have. She is a servant with eyes for others and a heart that sees no task beneath her dignity to complete. She has been faithful with little and therefore will find herself faithful to be entrusted with much."
