First-Ever Varsity Baseball Season in the Books

The first-ever Regents Varsity Baseball team finished 3-4 in the VACA North Region and lost a close-fought game to Christian Heritage in the state semifinals, 6-7. Players rallied from a slow start in the season, to eventually gel as a team. At one game late in the season, a player from the opposing team was seriously injured. The next day, the other school’s Athletic Director emailed to tell Coach Johnson what a deep impression the Regents team’s sportsmanship made on their community – huddling up to pray for the down player, sending Coach Amalfitano, who is a doctor, to help, and having players reach out to the injured player. Way to go, Regents Baseball!
