The Artwork of Steve Prince

In art class recently students have been listening to New Orleans brass band music that influenced the artwork of artist Steve Prince, a professor and art evangelist at William and Mary. He has used his artwork to show the courage of prior generations and communities that found resilience and hope in their faith and music. "We talked about Paul and how despite his imprisonment, he was able to write letters to encourage the early churches to have hope in Christ regardless of their circumstances," says art teacher Mrs. Atwell. Students learned about the first and second lines, a New Orleans parade tradition that inspires Louisana design and culture, then created artwork with musical instruments and learned the print-making process.
