A new tradition was born in the rhetoric school this fall with our first school-sponsored field trip to look at colleges. First stop was Richmond where students toured the University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University. "The goal of this trip was to make life after high school real to the students," said college counselor Jackie Jamison. "Statistically, very few of them will go to either of the colleges we visited, but the point of the visits were for the students to learn what good questions are to ask on college tours, to start imagining themselves in their next step, to contrast two very different colleges, and to have the confidence to start exploring colleges on their own."
