The Regents Girls Tennis Team finished 7-3 for their first fall season! Ainsley Shonka proved herself a clutch player twice, winning the last point of a tie breaker in our season opener against Eastern Mennonite, and finding a way to victory in her doubles match against St. Anne’s. Esther Keppel shined throughout the season, playing singles in every match and often doubles too. One major highlight was her success in singles against Covenant, outlasting her opponent 8-4 and leading us to a 7-2 overall victory. Maddie Parham finished the season strong with amazing play against The Village School. Maddie’s quick feet and coach-ability helped her excel this season. Meredith Gorry was our doubles specialist, often stepping up to play #1 doubles, Meredith showed no fear of her opponents. Our youngest player, fifth grader Raleigh Scott, made her presence known against the Miller School when she battled all the way to a tiebreaker. Overall, it was a fantastic season underscored by working hard to glorify God and growing in fellowship with our teammates. Tryouts for the spring season will begin in mid-February.
