Almost 200 grandparents joined us for Grandparents Day on April 30th! What a gift it was to be together and to celebrate your students' hard work all year long with recitations of poetry, Latin, science and history, songs, and Scripture. The logic school students presented two Socratic Seminars discussing The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis and three rhetoric school students presented speeches on how their family history has intersection with America's history of immigration.
"Grandparents Day is one of my favorite days of the year," said Head of School Courtney Palumbo. "My grandparents raised me and their love was transformational in my life. I remember when I was little and couldn't sleep because something was going on in my life, my grandmother would pull out her Bible and say, 'what does God say about that?' Don't be afraid to tell your grandchildren the truth when you need to. Don't be afraid to spoil them with ice cream sometimes - but give them the truth as well. Thank you for being present with your grandchildren and for all the ways that you are pointing your grandchildren well. The purpose of this school is to help your children be transformed and thank you for being part of that mission."
