This has been a month of superlatives and thanksgiving! First, what joy it is to bring you the news that Regents School has been recommended for accreditation by the Association of Classical Christian Schools! We will officially receive our accreditation at the ACCS conference in June. While this may sound like a mere formality, of the 300 ACCS member schools, we will be one of only 56 that are accredited! We first began this process in earnest in 2018 and were ready to schedule our accreditation visit in March of 2020 when the world shut down. By the time the committee was able to visit this fall, we needed to update our whole application it had been so long!
What does accreditation mean in practical terms? The benefits are everything from qualifying for matching funds for employee giving from more companies to getting discounts on educational products (which will save the school $7000 a year!). It also means that our community can have confidence that our governance, curriculum, teacher training, financial oversight (and so much more!) adhere to the highest standards and best practices in classical Christian education. Thank you to Amy Lindsay who oversaw this process!
